Undefined Adventures
Since my last journal entry, the temperature has become a bit bi-polar. Some days you get the weather you assume should occur in the fall, however, in other days a rapid change creates the hot summer weather lots of people dread. Even though, the weather is not on my side, I know I can still be productive in other tasks; the type of tasks I am referring to is like completing my job shadow. For my job shadow I tried to set up an appointment with a coroner since it was in the same criteria as my goal career as a forensics anthropologist. Some people question why I don’t just call up a forensics anthropologist instead of wasting my time going to a career that has similar workshops, what they don’t understand is that there is only a small amount of certified forensics anthropologist in America. The scheduling for a shadow with the coroner, however, did not go as planned, they informed me that they could not allow me to job shadow them due to the amount of time and work that their coroners needed to complete their tasks, meaning at that time they did not want me to interfere with the amount of work that needed to be done. Another question that may be asked is why I chose to jump from an anthropology science to vet science, the reason that I chose to shadow a veterinarian was because the love I share for any living creatures may be equivalent to the love people acquire with money. By shadowing a veterinarian I acquired heart-breaking decisions and responsibilities that come with the title of veterinarian, some decisions that were made on that day were situations like the cremating of a dog that developed bone cancer near his brain, or the puppy that got hit by a car and damaged his bone, releasing bone marrow (which is also a cause for bone cancer).
Before I learned the responsibilities of veterinarian, I decided to focus on my actual career goal of becoming a forensic anthropologist by visiting CSUB, the visit did not only contribute to me but to my mother as well, the choice of universities and the informational research about them was done by my mother. When I arrived at CSUB I could not believe how humongous the campus was, when I compared it to my local high school the difference in the size can be compared like an elephant to a mouse. However, I learned a lot about the different resources and opportunities that they had to offer, unfortunately I did not get to meet the professor that was in charge of the anthropology office but I did have the chance to receive information about when and where to contact him to set up an appointment. The amount of resources that this school had to offer did not only help me but also my mother who was pursuing her goal of becoming a psychologist, the thought of your never too old to accomplish your goals has always remained in the mind of my mother who after 18 years of not being affiliated with any educational activities is ready to pursue once again the idea of becoming a psychologist.
The next educational task that I have applied to my schedule is to finish and adapt my time into finishing any work that was due or is due in any of my core classes. Recently I have not been sticking with the idea of accomplishing that task, however, the consequence that my actions may result in is the dropping of a class to a lower standard class, an example of this may refer to my AP English class; the amount of work is not a proper way to say I have sufficed or pleased my teacher, the lack of participation or amount of absence has been a reason for the failing of my class so I have chosen to set my dental appointments to a minimum time of where I have to miss school. The idea of accomplishing this goal may be a hard task because of the amount of work that I have to complete and turn into my teachers, the topics that refer to this topic is psychology, AP English and Physics.
