The start to a new beginning
Many define high school as a place filled with learning, and they are right, I have learned both educational facts and facts that make the person who I presume to be. As I took my first step into high school as a senior
learner I felt a breeze of gratitude because I have known that I had accomplished many hardships in order to reach were I am. As a freshman I was a very anti-social person and now as a senior I always question a book that has no conclusion, a topic that is undefined, or math problem with no solution. The idea of getting level 4's is an obligation for me and taking information or perspectives that my learning facilitators give serves as a resource for my knowledge. However, the information one may accumulate may not always be based on educational facts , my life in high school also included facts about life, facts like life only gets harder if you let it be , or an undefined solution can be resolved with questionable theories. With this source of knowledge I am striving to become a vocalist, however, I know that I also have the possibility of changing my mind-set and I can also strive to become a forensics anthropologist as well. The idea of aiming for two different careers does not discourage me because I know I am capable of completing these tasks, that is why for my senior project I am thinking of job shadowing both a vocalist and an anthropologist to examine which best fits into my criteria. In order to reach the goal of becoming a vocalist I practice numerous of times at home with karaoke, the steps I take into becoming an anthropologist include studying outside of school and attending anthropology classes at Porterville College on Saturdays. When I set my mind into succeeding I take any knowledge or resources that may help me on the way to success.
As I began my senior year I realized that the quantity of college prep classes was another process of hard work and studies that would fall into the category of aiming to become successful. One of the classes that I am facing difficulty in is psychology, the reason is because the amount that Mrs. McEmoyl recommended for a level 4 essay required writing a 12-20 page essay on a psychological subject, this task was an amount that I have not been required to do in my whole high school career. In order to complete this task I have used the Porterville library access I gain from having a class in that particular college. Even though, I know I may be facing restless nights and a brain full of different categorized knowledge I aim to acknowledge every piece of work because I know the knowledge I gain now will pay off as I continue in the journey to become a person successful in life. One of the criteria’s that I have not mentioned was the people who mentored me or believed in me to pull through anything that was seen as impossible, such as; my ability in aiming for level 4’s came from my favorite and most unforgettable English teacher Mrs. Lopez, she always reminded me to never give up and even though I may have scored below basics on benchmarks she influenced me to fix any errors I received and give it another shot when the next opportunity was given.
The steps I began on taking for my hopeful dream into becoming a vocalist includes attending professional vocal auditions such as; The Voice, I attended this audition once, the response I got from the producer was that I was incapable to perform on live television because of my nervousness, I believe the reason I might have been nervous was because it was the first professional audition I’ve sang for. However, the feedback that the producer informed me with served as information for me to improve with; I was not disappointed but rather relieved to know that someone would acknowledge the mistakes I made and obtain information of how I can fix that mistake. The steps I prefer to take with my educational career have not been decided because my semester in college has barely begun meaning that the mistakes that have not come yet will serve as improvements when they do.
